If you arrange taxi service, you need to be sure you do not use the taxi service out of Cedar Rapids, as it will cost you considerably more since they are operating out of a different city. Transportation is not necessarily immediately available there, and you may be left waiting a long time, or without any ride if your flight arrives late at night, so reservations are necessary. You should make reservations in advance - understand that the Cedar Rapids airport is a small, regional airport located in the countryside between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. There is no bus service between the airport and Iowa City. If you are not able to participate in the airport shuttle service, we recommend you use one of the official transportation services which operate out of the airport. Reservations for trips to the University must be made at least 24 hours in advance to ensure the service partners at Anaman Concierge Services can arrange transportation. This service costs $10 (individuals for the promotional period dates) and $40 (each family member/friend) per ride, which is charged to student’s U-Bills. The promotional period for this service is provided before and after Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer academic breaks. The University of Iowa Undergraduate Student Government in partnership with Anaman Concierge Services offers an Airport Shuttle Service. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to arrange transportation. The Airport Shuttle Service promotional period has been extended to start on Friday, Janufor incoming new international students beginning studies in the Spring 2023 semester.
